Art as Historical Source

Every object we handle is approached as a historical document. Through extensive, original research, we aim to contribute meaningfully to world (art) history and to the ongoing discourse on colonialism and slavery.
Our catalogues are held in numerous private and institutional libraries worldwide and are widely used as reference works by scholars and researchers—an honour we value deeply.

The Curators

The collection is curated by dealers Guus Röell (80) and Dickie Zebregs (32).

• Guus Röell has been collecting art for over 25 years, specialising in colonial world history.

• Dickie Zebregs graduated in Dutch-colonial art and antiques and has been collecting for thirteen years.

Together, they present a collection of artefacts of uncompromising, museum-level quality.
